'Constant scrutiny': Tusshar Kapoor reveals film family struggles
Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor recently spoke candidly about his career struggles and personal growth in an interview with India Today. The actor, who recently marked his OTT debut with Dus June Kii Raat, expressed his belief that a "certain section" of the film industry does not want him to succeed. Kapoor also discussed the pros and cons of being from a film family.
'Why can't this certain section accept me?'
Kapoor shared, "Sometimes, I do feel why this certain section cannot accept me once and for all. And I think that section is part of the fraternity that wants to keep pulling you down," he said. "It's sad and true, but I have grown out of it. Thankfully, I have an audience that doesn't judge you no matter what you've done or what you've not."
'I was put to the test time and again'
Kapoor, the son of veteran actor Jeetendra, also spoke about the challenges of being from a film family. "People do keep talking about the pros that one has of coming from a film family; I did have my share. But, I also faced a lot of cons and constant scrutiny." "I was put to the test time and again as a new student. I am game to fight this because it also keeps me on my toes."
'Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai' worked, but people were not sure'
Kapoor recalled the intense media scrutiny he faced when his first film, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, was released. "When my first film came, there was a lot of media scrutiny. Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai worked, but people were not sure of me," he said. "I think I am one of the actors who have been written off maximum times." Kapoor's latest project, Dus June Kii Raat, premiered on JioCinema on August 4.
