'Tumbbad' re-release continues dream run; collects ₹12cr in 6 days
The re-release of the 2018 film Tumbbad achieved a remarkable box office milestone, matching the original's first-week earnings of ₹7.34 crore in just three days. The film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, has demonstrated its enduring appeal and growing fanbase with continuous crowd-pull. The re-release stands very close to surpassing its original total of ₹13.5 crore net. What's more, the official announcement of Tumbbad 2 has been made.

Tumbbad is expected to maintain a strong performance during its first week. It earned around ₹1.55 crore on Wednesday (Day 6), bringing the total collection to ₹12 crore. This success marks a significant turnaround for the film, which initially underperformed at the box office.

In Tumbbad, Sohum Shah plays the role of Vinayak Rao, alongside a talented cast that includes Rudra Soni, Harsh K, and Anita Date-Kelkar. Set in a cursed village plagued by relentless rains, the film explores the consequences of building a temple for the demon God Hastar. It also tells the story of a Konkanastha Brahmin family in the village, who are on a quest to uncover their ancestral wealth tied to Hastar.
