Following a successful theatrical run starting June 27, the Tollywood mega-hit Kalki 2898 AD is set to premiere on OTT platforms. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, will be available on Amazon Prime Video and Netflix from August 23, according to a report by 123 Telugu. This mythological science fiction has captivated audiences worldwide, grossing over ₹1,100cr at the box office.

Reports suggest that around six minutes of footage could be axed from the theatrical version, though this, along with the OTT debut date, has yet to be confirmed by the filmmakers. Meanwhile, the sequel has also been announced, marking the second installment of the Kalki Cinematic Universe.

Set in a dystopian future 6,000 years after the Kurukshetra War in the Mahabharata, Kalki presents an imaginative world that blends elements of mythology and science fiction. The narrative revolves around the prophesied 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu, Kalki who will bring forth an end to Kali Yuga. The film features an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan among others.
