'Loose Cannons': NFL star Travis Kelce to make film debut
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and recent Super Bowl champion, is set to make his feature film debut in Lionsgate's upcoming action-comedy, Loose Cannons. The project is being produced by Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick series, through his 87Eleven Entertainment banner. Jason Spitz and Alex Young are also on board as producers, reported Deadline. The script for the film is being penned by Timothy Dowling.
Plot details under wraps
The plot details of Loose Cannons are currently being kept under wraps. However, it is known that the film will center around two unhinged cops who are paired together in an attempt to straighten them both out. With the new NFL season just weeks away, filming for the movie is expected to commence at a later date.
Kelce's Hollywood journey
Loose Cannons marks Kelce's first foray into feature films. He is also set to appear in the upcoming horror drama Grostesquerie, created by Ryan Murphy, which premieres on FX on September 25. The details of his role in the series, which revolves around a series of gruesome crimes that have disturbed a small town, have not been revealed yet.
Kelce's other Hollywood ventures
Apart from his acting projects, Kelce has been making strides in Hollywood with his popular podcast New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother and recently retired Philadelphia Eagles player, Jason Kelce. He is also the host of Amazon Prime Video's Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? and recently executive produced the dark comedy My Dead Friend Zoe, which premiered at SXSW and will be released by Briarcliff Entertainment on November 1.

Screenwriter Dowling has previously written comedy films such as Pixels, This Means War, Knight and Day, Role Models, and Just Go With It. On the other hand, 87Eleven Entertainment's recent production includes the female-centric John Wick spin-off Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas. The company's future projects include Stahelski's Highlander film and the newly announced series John Wick: Under The High Table.
