Kartik Aaryan loses relatives in Ghatkopar billboard collapse
On Monday, a severe dust storm in Mumbai resulted in the collapse of a large billboard in Ghatkopar. The incident claimed the lives of 16 people, among them were relatives of Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan. Manoj Chansoria and his wife Anita, who were related to Aaryan, were crushed under a 250-ton hoarding while they were at a petrol pump. Their bodies were recovered nearly two days later from beneath their SUV.
Couple's visit to Mumbai ended in tragedy
The Chansorias were in Mumbai to finalize VISA paperwork for a visit to their son Yash, who resides in the US. After losing contact with his parents on Monday afternoon, Yash sought help from his father's colleagues. With the help of mobile network data, the Mumbai Police traced the couple's last location to Ghatkopar, near the Eastern Express Highway. After hours of searching by friends and colleagues, their bodies were discovered trapped beneath the collapsed billboard.
Final rites conducted, Aaryan's connection revealed
Upon realizing his parents were missing, Yash flew from the US. The final rites for the Chansorias were conducted at a crematorium in Sahar on Thursday. It was revealed by a family friend that Chansoria, who was a retired Air Traffic Control (ATC) manager, was related to Aaryan. Despite the tragedy, Aaryan remains committed to his professional engagements.
Aaryan dropped new poster of 'Chandu Champion' earlier today
Aaryan recently shared a poster of his character from Chandu Champion, where he is seen in the midst of a battlefield, gun in hand. The Kabir Khan directorial will be released on June 14. Last seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha, Aaryan is currently shooting for the third installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with Triptii Dimrii and Vidya Balan. He is also set to start shooting for an epic war saga by Dharma Productions, which will be directed by Sandeep Modi.
