After IAF strike, torrent download for Vicky Kaushal's 'Uri' skyrockets
Vicky Kaushal's recent release Uri: The Surgical Strike has been minting gold at the box office and raked in around Rs. 235cr so far. While the team has been basking in the success of the movie, Uri suddenly witnessed a surge in its torrent download. This happened after the Indian Air Force carried an aerial strike on Pakistani terror camps on Tuesday.
India dropped 1,000 kg bombs across LoC, destroyed terror camps
For starters, the Indian Air Force with their 12 Mirage-2000 Indian fighter jets struck several terror camps across the LoC in the wee hours on Tuesday. The strikes neutralized Jaish-e-Mohammed camps in Balakot, Muzaffarabad, and Chakothi by shelling 1,000 kg bombs within 19 minutes. Notably, this aerial strike happened to avenge the Jaish-e-Mohammed's gruesome Pulwama attack on February 14 which killed 40 Indian soldiers.

Soon after, the air strike was proudly termed as Surgical Strike 2.0. Needless to say, the successful aerial strike got every Indian beaming with pride. And it seems as if the nation wanted to relive the success of the surgical strike against Pakistan with Aditya Dhar directorial Uri: The Surgical Strike which led to an instant boost in its download on torrent on Tuesday.
'Uri' based on Indian Army's 2016 surgical strike
To recall, Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strike which was carried out by the Indian Army on September 29, 2016. The Indian Army had destroyed seven terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control back then. Notably, this surgical strike took place in retaliation to a terror attack at an army camp in Uri on September 18, 2016 killing 19 soldiers.
'Uri' team lauds Indian Air Force
Meanwhile, Uri team is all praises for the Indian Air Force's brave attack on Pakistan. Vicky expressed his proud feeling on Twitter and wrote, "Salute to the #IndianAirForce and our Intelligence Department. #IndianStrikesBack." On the other hand, Kirti Kulhari, who plays an IAF officer in Uri said, "It's actually surprising and thrilling at the same time. I was personally very proud of it."
