Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Gold' to hit screens on I-Day
In 'Gold', Akshay Kumar plays the role of Tapan Das, a young manager of the Indian national hockey team during 1936-1948. This sports-drama is helmed by 'Talaash' director Reema Kagti. The film tells the story of India's first Olympic medal in hockey, in the backdrop of the Indian Independence movement. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani-Farhan Akhtar, the film will hit screens on August 15.
The first biopic of Hrithik Roshan's career
The first biopic for Hrithik Roshan, 'Super 30' is based on the life of Indian mathematician Anand Kumar and his educational venture called "Super 30". Co-produced and directed by Vikas Bahl, the film aims to showcase Kumar's efforts to coach underprivileged IIT-aspirants through his highly-successful programme. After a number of delays, the release date for the film is now January 29, next year.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the legendary writer, Saadat Hassan Manto
The biopic on the the life of legendary Indo-Pakistani writer Saadat Hassan Manto, directed by Nandita Das premiered at the Cannes Film Fest on 13 May, 2018. It is expected to release in theatres in December. Nawazuddin plays the protagonist; Rasika Dugal and Tahir Raj Bhasin shall also be seen in pivotal roles.
Anupam Kher is Manmohan Singh in this political biopic
Based on a 2014 memoir of the same name, 'The Accidental Prime Minister' by Former PM Manmohan Singh's once media advisor, Sanjaya Baru, the film will showcase Anupam Kher in the capacity of the economist who served as the Prime Minister of India, heading the UPA government from 2004 to 2014. The Vijay Ratnakar-directional is all set to release on December 31, 2018.
Kangana Ranaut is the new "Jhansi Ki Rani"
Kangana Ranaut plays the role of the indomitable Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi in this epic biopic, 'Manikarnika'. The film would cover the life of the queen and her war against the British East India company during the 1857 Indian revolt for independence. A Zee Studios production, the release date of this movie is not known yet.
