'Picard' actor Todd Stashwick joins Marvel's 'Vision' series
Todd Stashwick, known for his role in Star Trek: Picard, is set to join Paul Bettany and James Spader in Marvel Studios's upcoming untitled Vision series, reported The Hollywood Reporter. This new show is a sequel to the Emmy-winning WandaVision, which was released in 2021 and comprises nine episodes. In India, it's streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
Stashwick will reunite with Terry Matalas on new show
Stashwick is reuniting with acclaimed showrunner Terry Matalas, who previously worked together on Picard and is now leading the new Vision series. The show has reportedly unofficially been referred to as Vision Quest, but its official title remains undisclosed. Bettany will return as Vision—the android who fell in love with Scarlett Witch and was later destroyed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War.
Spader to reprise role as Ultron in Vision series
Spader will be reprising his role as Ultron, which was created by Tony Stark to serve as a defense program but instead turned against humanity. The upcoming series will focus on Vision's quest for a new purpose, with Stashwick "playing an assassin who is on the trail of android and the technology he possesses." This show is part of a trilogy that began with WandaVision and will continue in Agatha All Along.
Stashwick's previous roles and upcoming projects
In Picard, Stashwick portrayed Starfleet Captain Liam Shaw, a character who often clashed with Jean-Luc Picard. He has also collaborated with Matalas on 12 Monkeys, Syfy's series adaptation of the Terry Gilliam thriller where he essayed the leader of a ruthless group of scavengers. His acting portfolio includes shows like 9-1-1: Lone Star, S.W.A.T., Disney Channel's Kim Possible movie, and CW series The Originals.
