'TMKOC' producer opens up on Disha Vakani's exit from show
SAB TV's popular show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been entertaining the masses for over a decade now. But if there's anything that the show's fans have been eagerly waiting for is the return of Disha Vakani who plays Dayaben on TMKOC. And while mystery over Disha's return continues, producer Asit Modi dropped hints that the actress might not make a comeback now.
Nobody can wait indefinitely, says 'TMKOC' producer
Spilling beans about Disha's rumored exit, Asit expressed his disappointment over the actress' prolonged silence over her return. He stated that no one can wait indefinitely for her comeback. "We have been very cooperative since beginning. Since her daughter's birth, we have been waiting patiently, giving her space as a new mother. But eventually, a show has to go on," Asit added.
Producers are willing to replace Disha on 'TMKOC'
Furthermore, Asit mentioned that the fans are yearning to have their favorite Daya bhabhi back in the Gokuldham society. And if Disha fails to make it to TMKOC, they aren't left with any choice but to replace her. "If Disha is unable to come back because of her personal issues, then we'll be left with no option but to replace her," he stated.
'There has been no ultimatum issued, it's time she decides'
Interestingly, there were reports that TMKOC producers have given a final ultimatum to Disha to take a call on her comeback. However, Asit dismissed those reports and stated that no such notice was given to her. "There has been no ultimatum issued. However, the show must go on with all the principal characters. It's time she took a decision and informed us," he emphasized.
Backstory: Disha took a maternity break in 2017
For the uninitiated, Disha was last seen on TMKOC in 2017 after which she went on a maternity break. It was reported that she would be returning post the birth of her baby. However, she extended her break to focus on her daughter. "The shooting conditions are tough and since Disha's baby is still very young she needs her," Asit had stated then.
Disha's husband Mayur's interference delaying her return to the show?
It was also reported that while Disha was willing to return, her husband Mayur Padia was interfering in her professional matters. According to a report published in SpotboyE, Mayur created differences between Disha and the production house. In fact, he also claimed that the producers owe Disha some amount and demanded a hike in her fees. However, his claims were rubbished by the producers.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Disha's brother Mayur Vakani is also planning to quit Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Undoubtedly, the reports left the audience shocked. However, contrary to the rumors, Mayur stated that he is very much a part of TMKOC. "I don't know how my quitting news started circulating. I will stay until the show is on," he was quoted saying.
