'TMKOC': Disha Vakani all set to return as Dayaben
In what would come as a relief for fans, popular actress Disha Vakani is all set to make a comeback as Dayaben on SAB TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, confirmed the makers of the show. The 41-year-old actor had been missing from the limelight after she went on a maternity leave two years ago. However, the makers couldn't find a suitable replacement.
Disha's comeback can happen within a month
"We are positive that Disha will make a comeback on the show as Daya. It might take a month's time," the show's producer Asit Kumarr Modi told Times of India. "Time and again, we have been asking her to be back on the show. However, she wasn't ready, but now, she seems to have made up her mind to make a comeback," he confirmed.
"Disha and the production never had any negative conversation"
Further stating that both parties shared a happy relationship even during Disha's break, Modi commented, "Disha and the production house never had any negative conversations in the past." "We were always insisting on having her back on the show. We have tried to push the story for two years without Dayaben, but we definitely want her back on the show," he added.
Backstory: Disha opted for maternity leave in September, 2017
To recall, it all started two years back when Disha went for a maternity leave in September, 2017. She was blessed with a baby girl, Stuti, in November, the same year, and has not returned to the show since then. Earlier, there were reports that Ami Trivedi might replace Disha on the show. However, no official announcement was made in this regard.
Disha got married to Mayur Padia in November, 2015
A graduate in Dramatics from Gujarat College in Ahmedabad, Disha has previously done small roles in Hindi films like Devdas and Jodhaa Akbar. She got married to Mumbai-based Chartered Accountant Mayur Padia in November, 2015.
