'TMKOC's Gurucharan missing: Police file case after CCTV footage surfaces
Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Singh Sodhi in the popular Asit Kumarr Modi's TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has reportedly disappeared. Last seen at Delhi airport on April 22, he was scheduled to fly to Mumbai. In the latest development, DCP South-West Delhi Rohit Meena confirmed the actor's disappearance to ANI and stated that an investigation is underway with police examining CCTV footage.
Police found many vital clues in the investigation
Speaking to ANI, DCP Meena mentioned, "Gurucharan Singh's family lodged a complaint with us that he left for Mumbai on 22 April at 8:30 pm. He has been missing since then." "We have registered a case and are investigating from multiple angles. We are looking for footage and technical investigation, and we have even found many vital clues." To note, Singh's father filed a missing complaint on Friday detailing his son's sudden disappearance.
Case registered under Section 365 of the IPC
Further, DCP Meena informed, "We have registered a case under Section 365 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code)." "The initial probe involves following his movement according to CCTVs and analyzing corroborative technical evidence. He is seen going with a backpack." Meanwhile, in their investigation, police also tried to get his call records to know "who he last spoke to on call or via message." Per News18 Showsha, Singh's missing complaint was filed in the Palam area of New Delhi.

Co-star Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal is worried about Singh's disappearance
News of Singh's disappearance has caused concern among his family, fans, and co-stars. Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal—who played Singh's wife on the show—voiced her worry: "We weren't in touch for a year now, but I tried calling him yesterday...his number was switched off." "I am not aware if the show's team is helping since no one among them is in touch with me. Gurucharan was a good person, I hope he is safe and sound. I am keeping my fingers crossed."

Singh is celebrated for his portrayal of Roshan Singh Sodhi, a jovial character in the sitcom TMKOC. He briefly left the show in 2013 but returned due to audience demand. After his final departure in 2020, actor Balwinder Singh Suri took over the role. Despite rumors about delayed payments causing his exit, Singh previously stated, "I want to move forward with love and respect. There are some other reasons I don't want to talk about."
