'83' writer Sanjay Puran Singh to direct Akshay Kumar's 'Tirangaa'
The upcoming Akshay Kumar-starrer Tirangaa is set to be directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, reported Bollywood Hungama. The decision was reportedly made by the film's producers—Ashvin Varde, Subhash Kale, and Narendra Hirawat—in collaboration with Kumar. They believe that Chauhan is the perfect choice to give this film the necessary commercial appeal. The movie is expected to start production in December 2024.
'Tirangaa' is not a remake of the 1993 film
Contrary to previous reports, Tirangaa is not a remake of the 1993 film of the same name that starred Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. This was confirmed by producer Hirawat in a statement to Bollywood Hungama. He clarified, "We would like to hereby affirm that this news is completely baseless and untrue." "Yes, we are indeed producing a film with Shri Akshay Kumar but we would like to categorically state that it is NOT a remake of any film."
