Tinaa Dattaa's 'Daayan' to go off-air next month: Here's why
What's the story
It's been two weeks since &TV's Daayan has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The show was in the news after actress Tinaa Dattaa accused co-star Mohit Malhotra of sexual misconduct.
While the allegations sparked off a controversy, it was later suppressed after their patch-up.
However, this didn't end problems for the show as Daayan will be going off-air in April.
TRP
'Daayan' to be pulled down because of low TRPs
According to media reports, the makers are planning to pull down the much talked about show next month.
In fact, the Spotboye report stated that the reason behind pulling down the show is low TRP.
"Actors and production team have already been informed about the development and soon they will wrap-up the shooting of the show," a source reportedly told the publication.
Allegations
Backstory: Tinaa had accused Mohit of touching her inappropriately
To recall, the controversy surrounding Daayan started after Tinaa accused Mohit of touching her inappropriately.
This apparently happened during an intimate scene on the sets when Tinaa felt that Mohit went a little too overboard.
Miffed with the incident, she raised the matter with the production team.
On the other hand, Mohit rubbished the allegations and stated that nothing of this sort ever happened.
Patch up
Later, the actors apparently patched up
After a few days, Tinaa surprised everyone as she called it a truce with Mohit.
The actress stated that she and Mohit have resolved their differences, and decided to give their (professional) relationship a fresh start.
She also mentioned that she has no issues in working with Mohit.
"We've ironed out the differences. We've concluded to make a new start," Tinaa added.
Information
An official announcement is awaited
Meanwhile, an official announcement about Daayan going off-air is still awaited. But it seems that it was Tinaa-Mohit's controversy that took a toll on the show's TRP and is reportedly resulting in its sudden end.
