The Academy Award-nominated film A Complete Unknown, starring Timothee Chalamet as legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, has finally received an Indian release date: February 28.
The film, directed by James Mangold, chronicles Dylan's rise from obscurity to stardom, culminating in the infamous 1965 Newport Folk Festival controversy.
At the time, Dylan was revered as the voice of the folk movement, known for his acoustic performances. However, when he performed with electric instruments for the first time, it upset many folk purists.

Based on Elijah Wald's 2015 book Dylan Goes Electric!, the film mainly chronicles Dylan's folk music success until his controversial use of electric instruments at 1965's Newport Folk Festival.
The film's title is inspired by the chorus of Dylan's 1965 single Like a Rolling Stone.

A Complete Unknown premiered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on December 10, 2024, and was released in the US by Searchlight Pictures on December 25.

Chalamet aside, the star-studded cast also features Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, and Monica Barbaro.
