Tiger Shroff in trouble; advised to slash fees by 70%
How many flops can one deliver and still hold their own? For actor Tiger Shroff, it seems like the limit is up. Once seen as the golden boy of Bollywood with distinctive action and dancing abilities, Shroff has been on a downward spiral since the release of Student of the Year 2. His recent films, Heropanti 2, Ganapath I, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, have not performed well. According to industry sources, he is staring at a potential career crisis.
Shroff is left with 0 projects in pipeline
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, an industry insider revealed that Jr. Shroff currently does not have any projects in his kitty. While Heropanti 2 and Ganapath stood no chance at the box office, his mighty collaboration with Akshay Kumar in BMCM also failed to reap the expected results. These failures have significantly impacted Shroff's standing in the industry.
Makers not confident about Shroff shouldering 'Rambo'
Shroff's much-anticipated project, Rambo, which was slated to start this summer, has been shelved due to budget constraints. The insider shared with the portal that "Jio (producers) believes that it is not feasible to make an expensive action film with Tiger in this market." Out of his 11 releases, Shroff has had six flops, including three consecutive ones recently. The Rambo remake was to be helmed by Rohit Dhawan with Janhvi Kapoor most likely cast as the female lead.
Producers advise Shroff to cut down fees
The repercussions of these failures have led to producers advising Shroff to significantly reduce his fees. The insider revealed, "After a hattrick of flops, producers have asked Tiger to cut down his fees to single-digit numbers." A prominent producer apparently suggested that Shroff reduce his fees by more than 70% and consider charging ₹9cr, as he doesn't have a market value right now. This came as a shock to Shroff who previously charged ₹30cr each for BMCM and Ganapath.
