This woman could have become first crorepati of 'KBC 11'
Kaun Banega Crorepati 11, which started airing last week, recently witnessed one of its most interesting episodes. It had a labor inspector from Madhya Pradesh, Charna Gupta on the hot seat, attempting the 15th question, which was worth Rs. 1cr, making her the first contestant of Season 11 to reach this level. However, she bowed out before taking the leap, and went home with Rs. 50L.
When 'KBC' makers did a major gaffe this season
The question that Charna didn't attempt was, "In 1944, the Battle of Kanglatongbi was fought near which present day Indian state capital?" The options were: Itanagar, Imphal, Guwahati, and Kohima. (Though, dear makers, Guwahati isn't technically a capital). Having exhausted all her lifelines, and being constantly reminded by the host, Amitabh Bachchan, of the same, Charna looked slightly under-confident, covering her mouth with hand.
Charna could have won 'KBC 11's full prize money
After Bachchan asked, "Lock karein, quit karein, kya karein," Charna decided to bow out of the show. She received a Rs. 50 lakh prize money, amid applause and cheers, with Bachchan acknowledging, "Well played." However, after quitting the show, on Bachchan's insistence, she did try the last question, and her answer, that is Imphal, turned out be true!
'KBC 11' is already a hit, Bachchan ensuring it further
After she vacated the hot seat, Nitin Kumar Patva was invited to face the volley of questions, following the Fastest Finger First round. This season of the uber-popular quiz show is keeping audiences hooked, with Bachchan ensuring that it remains that way through his gestures. Recently he touched the feet of social activist Sindhutai, a guest at the show, despite being older to her.
Ajay-Atul modify KBC's iconic tune, 'Flip the question' reintroduced
Like KBC 10, the maximum prize money this season is Rs. 7cr as well. KBC 11 has also come up with several new elements, like its iconic tune has been revamped by music directors Ajay-Atul. The lifelines also witnessed a new addition, as 'Flip the question' was reintroduced this season. Further, the show has retained its segment Karamveers, which was introduced last season.
'KBC 11' retains the special segment of 'Karamveers'
In this segment, Big B meets those people who have brought a positive change in the society through their actions. Like the previous season, this time too, celebrities will accompany these contestants. Do note, this special segment will be aired every Friday.
"Every year, Mr Bachchan becomes younger, like a kid"
Interestingly, the director of the show, Arun Sheshkumar, shared how excited Bachchan is while filming the show. "Every year, Mr Bachchan becomes younger. He becomes like a kid on set. He tells us, Chalo, aaj kya naya karna hai? He enjoys the process as the kid in him is very much alive. For us, it becomes challenging to bring in the novelty," he said.
Apart from 'KBC,' Bachchan has some five films lined up
Highlighting Bachchan's humility, Sheshkumar said, "There's no one on the set who can say that Mr Bachchan did not wave out to him," while adding that the actor's favorite toy is the buggy camera, as it follows him wherever he goes on the sets. Meanwhile, apart from KBC, the superstar has films like Sye Raa Narasimha, Jhund, Brahmastra, Gulabo Sitabo, and Chehre, lined up.
