Sridevi's sister's husband denies reports of Boney being financially unstable
As Sridevi's sister Srilatha continues to remain tight-lipped over the sudden demise of the Bollywood star, her husband Sanjay Ramaswami has now issued a statement on the matter. Sanjay has refuted the claims that Sridevi was under a lot of stress after Boney Kapoor suffered heavy losses. These claims were earlier made by Venugopal Reddy who deemed himself to be Sridevi's uncle.
Reddy had professed that Sridevi was grief-stricken
While talking to a Telugu TV channel, Reddy had said, "What we knew was Boney Kapoor lost a lot of money in few films and they sold Sridevi's properties to make up for the losses." "Sridevi passed away with a lot of pain in her heart. She wore a smile on her face but she went through a lot inside," he added.
Sanjay categorically denied Reddy's claims
Sanjay issued a statement post Reddy's comments that read, "I have been married to Srilatha for 28 years and never once have we heard of this individual Venugopal Reddy. There is no truth to this man's claims and the entire family is in support of Boney." He also defended his wife's stoic silence saying, "We mourn in silence and do not seek any publicity."
Meanwhile, the Kapoors are in Chennai for a prayer meet
After having immersed Sridevi's ashes in Rameswaram and Haridwar, the Kapoor family has now flown to Chennai for a prayer meet to honor the late cinema icon. Hailed as India's first female superstar, Sridevi breathed her last on the fateful night of 24 February. She is survived by Boney and daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
