Is 'The Kapil Sharma Show' losing charm? TRPs say so
What's the story
Kapil Sharma made a grand comeback with The Kapil Sharma Show last year. The show received a warm welcome from the audience and it was evidently visible on the TRP charts.
From the set to cast, everything about TKSS was well appreciated.
But looks like this success was short-lived for Kapil as his show witnessed a significant dip in TRP this week.
Here's more.
First week
'TKSS' ruled TRP chart in first week
Notably, Kapil's return on the small screen was eagerly awaited by the audience which made everyone excited about TKSS.
Given the hype surrounding the show, TKSS managed to set TRP chart on fire and grabbed the top slot.
According to BARC ratings, Kapil's show witnessed a stupendous TRP of 8.1 million impressions on the first day.
Kapil's second innings got a blockbuster start.
TRP
'TKSS' was dethroned by 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 9'
After a remarkable start, TKSS managed to have a strong hold on TRP and garnered around 9.21 million impressions in the next week.
It was a good sign for TKSS as there was an increase of around a million impressions in the second week.
However, it was dethroned from the first spot by Rohit Shetty's Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 which accumulated 9.7 million impressions.
Ratings
The TRPs dipped soon
Despite the positive reviews of the show, TKSS witnessed a major dip in its TRP this week.
According to the BARC ratings, The Kapil Sharma Show slipped to third spot this week with 7.6 million impressions.
It experienced a decline of over a million impressions this week, which isn't good news for TKSS team.
Meanwhile, KKK9 managed to retain top slot in TRP chart.
Reason
Is the audience bored of Kapil's lame jokes?
Given the TRP ratings of the week, looks like TKSS is gradually losing its charm.
Well, this was quite expected as Kapil failed to present anything new on the table after his return.
Although his team did come with better punches, it didn't seem to impress the audience much.
We wonder if Kapil would be able to revive TKSS in the coming weeks.
