'The Great Indian Kapil Show' S2 announced, watch promo here
Netflix has officially announced the return of The Great Indian Kapil Show with its second season. The announcement was made through a new promo featuring the show's beloved cast of comedians, including Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, and Archana Puran Singh. In the promo, the cast can be seen engaging in hilarious banter as they reveal that their favorite parivaar (family) is back to entertain viewers on "funny-vaar" (Saturdays), indicating that the show will air every Saturday.
Season 2 to premiere on September 21
According to a report by India Today, The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 is set to premiere on September 21, 2024. The report also revealed that the show's team has already filmed with the entire cast of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives before taking a short break for Raksha Bandhan. Filming for new episodes will reportedly resume soon with other Bollywood celebrities making guest appearances.
Show format to remain the same
A source informed India Today that the format of The Great Indian Kapil Show will remain the same, including the airport setting. However, the team has planned a few new elements to enhance the show's entertainment quotient. "The cast and crew were excited to be back on stage and are raring to bring audiences another laughter-filled session," added the source.
Meanwhile, Sharma, Grover were spotted at Art of Living Ashram
Before resuming shooting for the comedy show, Sharma and Grover were spotted at the Art Of Living Ashram in Bengaluru. Sharma had also taken to Instagram earlier to share a celebratory picture with the full cast and crew around a cake, symbolizing new beginnings. The cake featured the logo of the show, adding a sweet touch to the occasion.

The Great Indian Kapil Show made headlines for reuniting Sharma and Grover after a gap of over six years. The two had a fallout allegedly on a flight returning to India from a tour in Australia. During their recent visit to Art of Living founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Grover humorously asked him how two friends could avoid fighting or quickly resolve their differences, much to the amusement of the audience and Sharma.
