Rahul Kohli reveals he lost MCU role to Pedro Pascal
Rahul Kohli, recognized for his performances in iZombie and The Fall of the House of Usher, recently disclosed his near-miss opportunity to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with Salaam Nerds, he revealed that he was considered for the role of Mister Fantastic, Reed Richards, in the upcoming film, The Fantastic Four. "Yeah, I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it but I didn't get it, is the important thing," Kohli stated.
Kohli shared mixed feelings about missed opportunity
He expressed mixed feelings about not securing the role, stating, "On good days, you're like, 'Man, I'm wanted!' People really want to see. You're the guy that people will shout out for anything." However, he also acknowledged the disappointment that comes with such missed opportunities: "On bad days, 'It's a reminder that you're not the guy. You're not there. These are the roles you'll never get.' So, it's sweet and it's perspective. It's how you feel about yourself."
Pedro Pascal secured the said role role
The role of Mr. Fantastic, initially considered for Kohli, ultimately went to Pedro Pascal. The rest of the cast includes Vanessa Kirby as Sue, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Econ Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm. Other notable cast members are Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, Paul Walter-Hauser, John Malkovich, Ralph Ineson, and Natasha Lyonne. The Fantastic Four is being directed by WandaVision helmer Matt Shakman with a script by Ric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer.
