Kareena's 'The Buckingham Murders' struggles; earns only ₹10L on Day-12
Kareena Kapoor Khan, who recently marked her 25th year in the film industry, is facing a disappointing box office performance with her latest release, The Buckingham Murders. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the film has had a sluggish start at the box office. In its first week, it earned just ₹7.65 crore, marking one of the lowest openings for a Kapoor Khan starrer.
'The Buckingham Murders' saw a slight increase in 2nd weekend
Despite its initial slow start, The Buckingham Murders saw a slight increase in earnings over its second weekend. The film added another ₹1.55 crore, particularly on Friday when ticket prices were reduced to ₹99 for National Cinema Day. However, by the second Monday (Day 12), the film's collections dropped significantly to just ₹10 lakh. This brought the overall collection of the film to ₹9.3 crore.
Hindi version of 'The Buckingham Murders' contributed most to earnings
The Buckingham Murders was released in two versions: Hindi and Hinglish. The Hindi version has contributed the most to the film's earnings with a collection of ₹5.59 crore. In this film, Kapoor Khan portrays a detective tasked with investigating a child's murder while dealing with her own personal grief. This role is part of Kapoor Khan's recent trend of balancing commercial films and more unconventional projects.
Her upcoming projects include 'Singham Again,' rumored Meghna Gulzar film
Looking ahead, Kapoor Khan is set to appear in Rohit Shetty-Ajay Devgn's Singham Again, scheduled for a Diwali release. This film will be competing with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Triptii Dimri's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Additionally, there are rumors that Kapoor Khan may be part of Meghna Gulzar's next film after Sam Bahadur. These projects follow her successful films such as Jab We Met, Omkara, Bajrangi Bhaijaan among others.
