Kareena's 'The Buckingham Murders' starts slow; earns less than ₹2cr
Kareena Kapoor Khan's latest film, The Buckingham Murders, directed by Hansal Mehta and co-produced by her, opened to a disappointing ₹1.15 crore on its first day. The crime thriller hit theaters on Friday, marking the weakest opening of Kapoor Khan's career. Despite her previous film Crew being a box-office success, this new venture has started off on a low note.
'The Buckingham Murders' faced competition from 'Stree 2,' 'Tumbbad'
The film, which is 70% in English and 30% in Hindi, was released in both its original Hinglish version (80% dialogues in English, 20% in Hindi) and a dubbed Hindi version. It was the only major Bollywood release this week, competing with re-released films like Tumbbad and Veer-Zaara, as well as Stree 2, released on August 15.
'The Buckingham Murders' cast and Kapoor Khan's future projects
In addition to Kapoor Khan, The Buckingham Murders features an ensemble cast including Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. The film witnessed an overall occupancy of 9.99%, with most footfalls in the night shows. On the work front, Kapoor Khan is set to appear in Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, the third installment of the popular franchise that began with Singham in 2011 and was followed by Singham Returns in 2014.
