'Big Bang Theory' spinoff gets title—this OG character to lead
What's the story
The spinoff of The Big Bang Theory on Max has been titled Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, Deadline reported.
The series will focus on Stuart Bloom, played by the comic relief of the original show, Kevin Sussman.
However, the title also hints that Stuart may have to deal with failures, just like he did in the original series.
Title trend
'Stuart Fails to Save the Universe' follows naming trend
Just like other Big Bang Theory spinoffs, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe also follows suit by being named after its main character (after Young Sheldon and Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage).
The series is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
It also marks the first spinoff title thematically connected to the original series, which was named after a popular theory about the universe's origin.

Familiar faces from 'The Big Bang Theory' to return
Sussman will be joined by his Big Bang Theory alumni Lauren Lapkus, Brian Posehn, and John Ross Bowie.
However, the actors aren't officially cast in the series yet as it awaits a green light. They have talent holding deals with WBTV to star in the spinoff once it's picked up.
The new series is written and executive produced by Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady.
Series speculation
Speculation about plot and cast
Ever since the announcement of the Big Bang Theory spinoff back in April 2024, fans have speculated that it could focus on Stuart and his comic book store.
In the original series, Stuart was mostly lonely and depressed but found his happiness when he met Denise (Lapkus).
He also became Raj's (Kunal Nayyar) close friend in Season 6 of the original series. So, there's hope for OG lead characters to return with cameo roles, too.
