The mantle of the Ant-Man
For those unaware, Hank Pym was the original Ant-Man and the brains behind the suit's technology. However, the role of Ant-Man, over the years, has been taken up by Scott Lang, as the Marvel films showed and Eric O'Grady.
You and whose army?
One of the misconceptions about Ant-Man's powers is that he can communicate with ants. However, the truth is that his cybernetic helmet, armed with an EMP Communication Device, allows him to telepathically communicate with innumerable insects within a mile radius. While communicating with insects might not seem impressive, they serve as handy distraction and have been sidekicks to Ant-Man in many battles.
Headstrong, to take on anyone
Ant-Man can shrink in volume, as you know. However, both his mass and density do not shrink with his size. This means he weighs the same and has the same strength as he would at normal size. At a shrunken state, he can deal much more damage due to the ability to minimize the area of impact, making him extra strong and nearly undetectable.
Size does matter for Ant-Man
Not only can Ant-Man shrink but Dr. Pym, the brilliant innovator, also found a way to reverse the technology. Thus Goliath Form was born, that we first saw in the movie, Captain America: Civil War. Ant-Man can grow as tall as buildings while his strength grows proportionately with size. However, this form drains his energy and he cannot remain a giant for long.
The world where time stops moving
The Quantum Realm that we saw in Ant-Man's movies is actually called Underspace in Marvel comics. It is a secondary universe that can only be accessed through magic or subatomic manipulation, that Ant-Man can do, once he shrinks to an imperceptibly small size. In comics, Ant-Man later established the base of Infinite Avengers at this level, which is said to have infinite space.
Communicating with the ones above
In his subatomic state Ant-Man can enter Underspace, while in his Goliath Form he can enter Overspace, making him one of the few Marvel characters with access to both the realms. More importantly, once in Overspace, he can communicate with Cosmic entities. He has had the distinct pleasure of meeting Eternity, one of Marvel's strongest characters, who predicted Ant-Man would lead the Avengers.
