'Thangalaan' records 71.64% occupancy in Tamil shows
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Thangalaan has earned ₹11 crore in Tamil, ₹1.5 crore in Telugu, and ₹10 lakh in Malayalam. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 71.64% in Tamil shows and had 592 shows in Chennai with an impressive 81.5% occupancy rate. Despite the competition from other releases, Thangalaan has managed to outperform them at the box office.
'Thangalaan's comparison with 'Mr Bachchan' and 'Double iSmart'
Thangalaan is facing stiff competition from Mr Bachchan and Double iSmart in the Telugu region. However, it is currently leading the clash. While Ravi Teja's Mr Bachchan made ₹5.3 crore on its opening day, Sanjay Dutt's Double iSmart earned ₹7.5 crore. Directed by Pa Ranjith, Thangalaan also stars Parvathy, Daniel Caltagirone, and Pasupathy in key roles.
