'GOAT' trailer: Vijay promises double the fun in mass entertainer
The much-anticipated trailer of actor Vijay's upcoming film, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), has finally been released. This marks Vijay's 68th film as a hero and the plot revolves around a RAW agent and a special Anti-Terrorist Squad haunted by a past mission. This is his penultimate project, and after his final film, he will shift his attention toward politics. Venkat Prabhu has helmed GOAT.
Action, violence, Vijay's dual roles: The trailer has everything
In the fast-paced trailer, dominated by guns, violence, and breakneck action, Vijay is seen playing dual roles. One has "68 successful international operations" and is a smart intelligence officer, while the other is trying to commit to family life and failing at it. However, their paths collide when Chennai comes under terrorist attack. Double the powers, double the fun! Moreover, in some ways, the film also looks reminiscent of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
Vijayakanth's scenes and release strategy in Tamil Nadu
In a unique move, the late actor and politician Vijayakanth will make an appearance in GOAT with the help of AI technology. Moreover, it was recently revealed that GOAT will reportedly become the first Tamil film to be released on every screen across Tamil Nadu. Beast currently holds the record for the highest day-one gross in Tamil Nadu, and now, GOAT is looking at breaking that record.
'GOAT' to be released in IMAX, EPIQ formats
GOAT is produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh under the AGS Entertainment banner. It boasts a notable ensemble cast including Mohan, Jayaram, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Amir, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash. The film is set to release worldwide on September 5, 2024, in both standard and IMAX formats.
