Vijay's 'GOAT' pulls in ₹1.75cr from US premieres before release
Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), is generating unprecedented excitement. Directed by Prabhu Venkat, GOAT is set for a global release on September 5. Just days before its official release, the movie has reportedly already earned over ₹1.75cr from its premiere shows in the US. This accomplishment is especially significant given the dominance of Telugu films in the US market.
'GOAT' sold over 8K tickets
The premiere shows for GOAT are still nine days away, but the film has already crossed $2,10,665 (approximately ₹1.76 crore) from nearly 240 locations, selling over 8,000 tickets, according to a report by ETimes. Cinema owners have also received permission from the makers to screen the film as early as 6:00pm Eastern Standard Time (4:00am Indian time), which could potentially increase the collection further. Notably, his last film, Leo holds the record for the highest Day 1 collection of ₹140cr.
'GOAT' inspired by 2004 Moscow metro bombing incident: Report
Per the report, the upcoming movie is reportedly inspired by the 2004 Moscow Metro bombing incident, where a suicide bomber detonated in a crowded subway, killing dozens of people. The film features Thalapathy Vijay in a double role and also stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Ajmal Ameer, Manobala, Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajay Raj, and Aravind Akash.
