South Indian superstar Vijay is gearing up for his last acting project, currently titled Thalapathy 69, before he transitions to a full-time political career. The upcoming movie's music has been composed by Anirudh Ravichander. On Saturday, the makers unveiled the first poster on social media, writing, "The torch bearer of Democracy is arriving on Oct 2025."
Pradeep Raghav appointed as film editor for 'Thalapathy 69'
Director Vinoth has chosen Pradeep Raghav as the editor for Thalapathy 69, marking their inaugural collaboration. Raghav, a respected figure in the Tamil film industry, debuted with Kathakali and has since received praise for his work on films such as Tik Tik Tik, Comali, Love Today, Star, and Garudan. Thalapathy 69 will reportedly see Vijay and Simran sharing the screen after a break of 20 years. Their last joint project was Udhaya, which hit the screens in 2004.
Vijay's recent film 'GOAT' has achieved box office success
Vijay's latest release, GOAT, directed by Venkat Prabhu, has emerged as a box office hit. The film raked in over ₹330cr in its first week, confirming its status as a mega-hit. In GOAT, Vijay demonstrated his acting range by playing dual roles of a father and son. His performance as the antagonist Jeevan was particularly appreciated by fans. Meanwhile, Vijay has launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which will contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
