'Thalapathy 69': 'Leo' co-producer to back Vijay's final film
Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is all set to collaborate with director H Vinoth for his 69th film. The movie, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, will be Vijay's last before he takes a long hiatus from acting. Earlier, it was reported that Bangalore-based KVN Productions would be producing the film. However, a recent update by OTTplay suggests that the movie will be bankrolled by Jagadish Palanisamy's production house, The Route.
Palanisamy's previous projects with Vijay
While there has been no official announcement from The Route regarding their involvement in the film, Palanisamy's close association with Vijay lends credibility to these reports. Notably, Palanisamy has earlier been associated with Vijay's famed projects, such as Leo, released in 2023, and Master, released in 2021.
Vinoth recently confirmed collaboration with Vijay
Vinoth recently confirmed his collaboration with Vijay at the Magudam Film Awards event in Chennai. He revealed that the upcoming project is not a political thriller, but a "100% Vijay film" that will appeal to all age groups. This statement has further heightened the anticipation for Thalapathy 69, which will be an out-and-out commercial entertainer.
'Thalapathy 69': Cast, crew, and other details
Thalapathy 69 is expected to feature Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead opposite Vijay. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is also rumored to be in talks for a significant role in the film. The movie's music will be composed by Anirudh Ravichander, while Sathyan Sooryan will serve as the director of photography. The much-anticipated project is slated to begin filming in October 2024.
