Pooja Hegde reunites with Vijay for 'Thalapathy 69'
Pooja Hegde has been officially announced as the female lead in Thalapathy 69 (tentative title), marking her second collaboration with Tamil superstar Vijay. The news was confirmed by KVN Productions on their official social media account on Wednesday. The production house welcomed Hegde onboard with a post that read, "Bringing the stunning duo back to the big screen once again...Welcome onboard @hegdepooja." This marks her second film with Vijay after Beast.
'Thalapathy 69' is directed by H Vinoth
Thalapathy 69 is being helmed by H Vinoth, known for his work on thrillers like Sathuranga Vettai (2014) and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017). His last three films featured Ajith Kumar in the lead role: Nerkonda Paarvai (2019), Valimai (2022), and Thunivu (2023). This marks a new directorial venture for Vinoth after his successful streak with Kumar.
'Thalapathy 69' will feature Bobby Deol as the antagonist
In addition to Hegde's casting, KVN Productions had earlier announced that Bollywood actor Bobby Deol would be playing the antagonist in Thalapathy 69. This film marks Vijay's final project before he ventures into politics full-time. The production of Thalapathy 69 is led by Venkat K Narayana of Karnataka-based KVN Productions, with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK serving as co-producers.
