'Kumkum Bhagya' fame actress Shikha duped of Rs. 11 lakh
A complaint has been registered by television actress Shikha Singh at the Chitalsar police station in Thane against a man for defrauding her. The 'Kumkum Bhagya' actress claimed that Deepak Chaturvedi, a Borivali resident, owed her more than Rs. 11 lakh for an event she did for him. Here's more on the matter.
What transpired between Shikha and the alleged fraudster
In her complaint, Shikha stated that she was approached by Deepak to perform at an event in July 2017 which was later postponed to November. They had agreed upon a price of Rs. 12 lakh and Shikha was paid Rs. 70,000 in advance. The actress further said that Deepak has been avoiding her after the show and has even relocated his office.
Police have begun the investigation
Resorting to action following the complaint by the actress under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, the cops have begun a probe in the matter and are tracing the accused. Ganpat Pingle, senior inspector of Chitalsar police station said they have been told that Deepak had taken the amount from the organizers but did not make the payment to Shikha.
