'Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya' fame actress Amita Udgata passes away
Veteran television actress Amita Udgata, who became a household name after appearing in 'Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya' as 'Amma', has passed away due to lung failure. She breathed her last on Tuesday night in a Mumbai hospital, where she was admitted from the last four days. Amita is survived by her two sons - Ruchin and Rishab Udgata.

Amita's close friend and actress Abha Parmar paid her condolences
"We were more like sisters. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn't aware that her condition was so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress. We have faced life's struggles together," said Abha.
The last rites will be performed on Thursday
Amita's last rites will be performed on Thursday as her elder son is currently out of the country. She has been a part of multiple TV shows such as 'Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi', 'Maharana Pratap', 'Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo', 'Doli Armaanon Ki'. Also, Amita has appeared in several films like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan-Randeep Hooda's 'Sarbjit' and Parineeti Chopra-Sidharth Malhotra's 'Hasee Toh Phasee.'
