Taylor Swift surprises fans with double album; 15 extra songs!
It doesn't get better than this. Fans of superstar Taylor Swift were already gleeful about the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. Then, the singer surprised her followers by announcing it to be a double album, two hours post the album's initial release. She stated, "I'd written so much tortured poetry in the past 2 years and wanted to share it all with you, so here's the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs."
Swift's double album includes previously disclosed bonus tracks
The double album includes 15 new songs, four of which had been previously disclosed. These bonus tracks are The Manuscript, The Bolter, The Albatross, and The Black Dog. Initially intended for separate physical album versions, Swift has now included these tracks in the second part of TTPD along with 11 other songs.

Swift's subtle hints preceded surprise double album release
In the days leading up to the album release, Swift subtly hinted at the 2:00am surprise. A promotional Spotify library installation at the Grove in Los Angeles featured a clock set to 2:00am. A teaser video also suggested her transition from her Midnights era to The Tortured Poets Department, with a wall clock set to 2:00am.
'The Tortured Poets Department' follows Swift's 4th AOTY Grammy
The Tortured Poets Department is Swift's 11th studio album and follows her record-breaking fourth Album of the Year win at the Grammys. The album was released at midnight (ET) in the US. There are rumors that it may be about Swift's ex-boyfriend, British actor Joe Alwyn. Swift is known for writing songs about her past relationships, including those with John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal.
