'Heeramandi's Taha Shah signs 3-film deal with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment
Rising actor Taha Shah Badussha, known for his role in Netflix's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, has inked a three-film deal with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, reported Variety. Badussha earned international recognition for his character Tajdar Baloch in the aforementioned series helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Ramesh Sippy, a stalwart of Indian cinema, is famous for directing Sholay (1975), one of India's most successful films.
Now, Badussha is preparing for a film with Rohan Sippy
The first movie under Badussha's new contract will be directed by Rohan Sippy, acclaimed for his work on Bluffmaster, Dum Maaro Dum, and Nautanki Saala. He also served as Aranyak's showrunner. Praising Badussha, Rohan said, "Taha brings a unique energy and presence to the screen. His commitment to his craft and ability to connect with audiences is commendable."
Badussha expresses gratitude for the opportunity
Sharing his excitement about the new deal, Badussha said, "It's an honor to sign a three-film deal with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment and it's an absolute dream to work in a film directed by Rohan Sippy." Badussha's acting credits extend beyond 'Heeramandi'
Apart from Heeramandi, Badussha has also portrayed Prince Murad in ZEE5's Mughal Empire drama Taj: Divided by Blood (2023). He is also set to star in the upcoming film, Paro: The Untold Story of Slavery. Meanwhile, coming back to Heeramandi, it also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, and Fardeen Khan, and will return for a second season.
