In heartbreaking news, Bijili Ramesh, a popular Tamil actor and social media star, passed away on Monday night (August 26) following a prolonged illness, reportedly. He was 46. The actor was known for his roles in films such as Natpe Thunai (2019), Sivappu Manjal Pachai (2019), Aadai (2019), and Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal (2022). The news of his demise has left the Kollywood film industry in shock.
Ramesh's family sought financial help for his treatment
Ramesh, known for his struggle with alcoholism, was hospitalized due to complications from the habit. He faced multiple health issues that led to multi-organ failure and ultimately his death. Before his hospitalization, he had been affected by paralysis, leaving him unable to stand on his own. A few weeks ago, his family members had reached out to his colleagues, seeking financial assistance for his treatment.
'I can't stand still anymore...'
In one of his final media interviews, the social media star admitted that alcohol had severely impacted his health and life. "I can't stand still anymore. I made many mistakes before my marriage, which led me down the path of alcoholism. I urge my fans and others to learn from my example and avoid alcohol or any harmful habits that can destroy health."
Ramesh shot to fame with a YouTube video
Ramesh first gained recognition after appearing in a YouTube video, where his unique style of speaking and his admiration for superstar Rajinikanth caught the attention of viewers. This led to him being cast in the film Natpe Thunai by Hiphop Tamizha Aadhi. Ramesh went on to feature in several other films such as Zombie, Comali, Watchman, A1, Aadai, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, and LKG. His funeral is going to be held at 5:00pm on Tuesday at his MGR Nagar residence.
