Taemin's recent achievements and future plans
Taemin, often referred to as the "Idol's Idol," has been making waves in the K-pop industry with his recent ventures. In October 2023, he made a successful solo comeback after completing his military service, with his fourth EP, Guilty. This was followed by a groundbreaking concert named Metamorph at Inspire Arena in Incheon in December. Taemin set a record as the first artist to headline a standalone concert at this esteemed venue.
Taemin left SM Entertainment to start a new journey
To note, in April, Taemin embarked on a new chapter in his solo career. The lead dancer of the boy band SHINee officially signed an exclusive contract with the South Korean agency Big Planet Made Entertainment after a remarkable 16-year tenure with SM Entertainment. It's worth noting that he will pursue his solo music ventures under Big Planet while continuing his group activities under SM Entertainment.
Taemin's journey from SME to solo artist
Taemin first debuted under SME as a member of SHINee in 2008 and launched his solo career in 2014. The group, initially comprising Onew, Key, Minho, Taemin, and Jonghyun, tragically lost their main vocalist Jonghyun in 2017, leaving them as a quartet. They achieved immediate success with their debut single Replay (2008) and went on to release several chart-topping hits. Taemin was the first SHINee member to embark on a solo career, releasing his debut EP Ace in 2014.
