'Dune: Prophecy': Tabu's all-black ensemble signals a powerful presence
Tabu's first look from the upcoming series Dune: Prophecy has been unveiled. The series, a prequel to Denis Villeneuve's successful Dune films, features Tabu as Sister Francesca. The released image showcases the actor in a dramatic pose, donning an all-black ensemble with her hair pulled back into a ponytail. Sister Francesca is described as a "strong, intelligent, and captivating" character who disrupts the power dynamics upon her palace return.

Tabu expressed her enthusiasm about being part of the Dune universe and appreciated the faith shown in her by the series' creators. "It has been an extraordinary experience playing Sister Francesca in Dune: Prophecy right from the moment I was approached for it, and I said yes without batting an eyelid," she said. She added, "It's an actor's delight to be trusted by the creators with a character that is so interesting, intriguing, intelligent, and emotionally powerful."

'Dune: Prophecy' plot and streaming details
Dune: Prophecy is set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides's rise to power and follows the journey of two Harkonnen sisters as they battle forces endangering humanity's future. The series will be exclusively available on JioCinema in India, although a release date has not been disclosed yet. Tabu aside, the ensemble includes Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Johdi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, and Shalom Brune-Franklin.
Tabu's previous and upcoming projects
The upcoming series is a joint production of HBO and Legendary Television. Alison Schapker serves as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Diane Ademu-John. Coming back to Tabu, before Dune: Prophecy, she was seen in the 2020 British television drama mini-series A Suitable Boy. Tabu, who kicked off 2024 with a bang with the all-female-led Crew, faced a box office disappointment with her recent release Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, co-starring Ajay Devgn.
