Taapsee Pannu confirms marriage, says 'no plans' to share photos
Taapsee Pannu's devoted fan base is eagerly awaiting glimpses from her secret wedding to her long-time beau, badminton coach Mathias Boe, which took place in Udaipur on March 22. Despite the circulation of viral videos, neither pictures nor official confirmation emerged from the actor's camp—until now. In a recent interview, Pannu finally confirmed the marriage and shed light on her decision to keep the affair "private."
'I've signed up for public life, not my partner...'
When questioned by Hindustan Times about any plans to share wedding pictures on social media, the 36-year-old actor responded, "I just am not very sure if I want to let my personal life and the people involved in it, to go through the kind of scrutiny that happens when a public figure gets married." "It's me who has signed up for this, not my partner...I am not sure about how I feel...that's why I've kept it to myself."
If Pannu feels comfortable sharing details later, she will
Elaborating on her reason for not attracting any spotlight on her, she said, "I don't think I am mentally prepared to put that out right now." "I knew people who were there, they wanted to be there for me and were not present to judge, that's why I was pretty relaxed." "In the future, if I get comfortable sharing about it (wedding details), we will figure out how, what, and when I want to release something if at all."
Pannu clarified she never wanted to hide her marriage
Further, the actor quickly clarified that she never intended to hide her marriage. Expressing concern, she said, "The people who are genuinely close to me, were a part of the celebration and always knew about my relationship and my intentions about when and how I want to get married." Notably, the wedding was described as "an extremely intimate affair," with only a handful of close Bollywood celebrities present, including Pavail Gulati and Anurag Kashyap.
Bollywood star expressed her desire for privacy
Pannu expressed her desire to keep her wedding private. She emphasized, "I just didn't want to make it a public affair, because then I will start getting worried about how it is perceived, rather than really enjoying the way I would want to do it." "Subconsciously, I would start thinking about how it feels from the outside which I did not want to think about, especially for this one thing, because it's hopefully happening once in life!" she explained.
