Sushant Singh Rajput warns fans against dubbed version of 'Sonchiriya'
It's been just three days since Sushant Singh Rajput's Sonchiriya hit theaters. While the movie opened to mixed reviews from audience, the performances of its cast were lauded by the critics. But before the Sonchiriya team could cherish the positive critic response, the movie has reportedly been dubbed in other languages without permission. In this light, Sushant has warned fans about this fake version.
Sushant thanks fans for their support to 'Sonchiriya'
Sushant shared an elaborate post on micro-blogging site Twitter about his movie Sonchiriya. He began his post by thanking his fans for all the love they have shown to his dacoit drama. "A big thank you to all who are showering so much praise on Sonchiriya! Despite a ridiculously low number of screens the film's been released on, we're getting rave reviews," he added.
But, he is heartbroken with dubbed versions of 'Sonchiriya'
Sushant clears air about dubbed versions of 'Sonchiriya'
Furthermore, Sushant spoke on the "heartbreaking" news about the dubbed versions of Sonchiriya that were doing the rounds in several theaters. He stated that it is reported that the dubbed version is different from the original version. Clarifying his stance on the dubbed versions, Sushant stated that neither he nor any of his co-stars have dubbed for any version other than the original dialect.
'I don't want our labor of love to be corrupted'
Unsurprisingly, Sushant is miffed with the dubbed versions. He urged his fans to report the dubbed versions so that he can escalate the matter with the concerned authorities. "Please send me names of theatres that you find are playing this 'dubbed' version and I will escalate to those concerned. I don't want our labor of love to be corrupted," he emphasized.
'Sonchiriya' gets slow and low response at box office
Meanwhile, Sonchiriya is witnessing abysmal response at the box office. The movie opened to a poor collection of Rs. 1.2cr at the box office on the first day. Despite a positive response from the critics, it saw minimal growth on the second day. So far Sonchiriya minted Rs. 2.7cr in two days of release. We wonder if it would even cross Rs. 50cr mark.
