Hours after release, Tamilrockers leak Sushant-Shraddha's 'Chhichhore'
Tamilrockers has made another movie a victim of its devious actions. The portal, infamous for targeting almost every new release, got its hands on Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor's Chhichhore. According to media reports, the notorious website leaked the movie within hours of its theatrical release on Friday, September 6. Reportedly, the movie is available for download on the torrent websites.
Aftermath: Will the movie's box office collection be affected?
To note, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial opened to decent reviews from audience and critics. The box office trends also suggested that Chhichhore will have a fair collection on the first day. In fact, given the positive reviews, it is expected to witness significant growth in its earnings in the coming days. However, the online leak might take a toll on the movie's collection.
Earlier, Tamilrockers had targeted 'Saaho', 'Sacred Games 2,' 'Kabir Singh'
Notably, Chhichhore joins the list of recent releases that were targeted by Tamilrockers. The website puts out pirated versions of movies within a day of their release, irrespective of their language or genre. Earlier, movies like Saaho, Kabir Singh, Article 15, The Lion King, and Spider-Man: Far From Home also faced the brunt. Netflix show Sacred Games 2 couldn't escape the piracy web, either.
Despite court action, piracy still out of control in India
In 2018, Madras High Court put a ban on 12,000 sites to curb piracy. Among the banned sites, Tamilrockers alone had access to 2,000 of them. Although it has been banned innumerable times, they reportedly return with a different proxy server every time.
Separately, producer called 'Chhichhore' his career-best movie
Meanwhile, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, who bankrolled Chhichhore, was all praises for the movie and called it his "career-best movie". He stated that the movie is not just another story but "a journey that everyone goes through". "The film showcases some of the most beautiful years of one's life, where friends become family and stay with you till you age," the producer stated.
