Film actor Sushant Singh Rajput died by alleged suicide at his home in Mumbai. He was 34. The late actor was found dead at his apartment in Bandra (West) on Sunday morning. However, no suicide note has been recovered by the police. Rajput had been reportedly suffering from depression for the past few months. May his soul rest in peace.
Rajput's body was discovered by his house help, friends
According to reports, Rajput's house help knocked on his bedroom door around noon. As he did not receive any response, he called Rajput's friends and the police. The initial investigation and inquiries took place at the late actor's home. The police has also reportedly found a file with details of Rajput's medical treatment for clinical depression. Meanwhile, the post-mortem report is awaited.
He is survived by his father and siblings
Rajput was born in Patna, Bihar. He is survived by his father, Dr. KK Singh, and four sisters, reports say. Rajput had lost his mother in 2002 when he was 16 years old. In several interviews, the actor spoke about how losing his mother affected him. In fact, in his last Instagram post a week ago, Rajput had remembered his late mother.

Rajput shot to fame with 'Pavitra Rishta'
Rajput had started his acting career through television serials. He appeared in popular TV shows, including Star Plus' Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. He shot to fame with his role as Manav Deshmukh in ZEE TV serial Pavitra Rishta, which also starred his former girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. That apart, he featured in reality shows like Zara Nachke Dikha and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4.

Rajput started his Bollywood journey with Abhishek Kapoor's critically-acclaimed 2013 movie Kai Po Che!. He went on to star in movies like Shuddh Desi Romance, Rajkumar Hirani's PK, Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Neeraj Pandey's M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, Raabta, Kedarnath, and Abhishek Chaubey's Sonchiriya. Chhichhore remained his last theatrical release. His upcoming film, Mukesh Chhabra's romantic-drama Dil Bechara, was due to release this year.
His former manager also died by suicide a week ago
In fact, Rajput's former manager, Disha Salian, also died by alleged suicide on Monday night. Saddened by that news, Rajput had then written on social media, "It's such devastating news. My deepest condolences to Disha's family and friends. May your soul rest in peace."
A terrible year for the film fraternity
It has been a terrible year for the Indian film fraternity. The news of Rajput's death comes shortly after the country mourned the loss of two of its most celebrated film stars - Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor.
