Actress Surveen, husband accused of Rs. 40 lakh fraud; booked
Hindi-Punjabi actress Surveen Chawla, husband Akshay Thakkar and brother Manavinder Singh have been booked for allegedly cheating a businessman of Rs. 40 lakh. Satyapal Gupta, a resident of Hoshiarpur, has lodged an FIR against the trio, accusing them of committing a fraud of the aforementioned amount. Gupta claimed that he lent them Rs. 40 lakh for making 'Nil Battey Sannata'. Here's more.
Here's what transpired
Satyapal alleged that the trio approached him for funds to invest in the film and promised a hefty amount in return. Therefore, Satyapal gave them Rs. 40 lakh and was told that he will get a profit of Rs. 30 lakh on the amount. However, after the film released, they started to ignore Satyapal's calls and he never got his money back.
'Nil Battey Sannata' came out in April 2016
Starring Swara Bhaskar, Riya Shukla, Ratna Pathak and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles, 'Nil Battey Sannata' released on April 22, 2016. The film was jointly produced by JAR Pictures and Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions. 'Nil Battey Sannata' marked the directorial debut of 'Dangal' director Nitesh Tiwari's wife Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
Meanwhile, Surveen was last seen in the web-show 'Haq Se'
Surveen last appeared in Ekta Kapoor's web-series 'Haq Se' which starred Rajeev Khandelwal opposite her. She has also appeared in movies such as 'Hate Story 2', 'Ugly' and 'Parched' etc.
