No reality? Sunidhi Chauhan slams 'fake' reality shows, alleges manipulation
In a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, renowned singer Sunidhi Chauhan disclosed the manipulated reality of singing competition shows. She reportedly stated that nowadays, nothing on these shows is real, it's all fake. Having served as a judge on such programs, the Ruki Ruki singer reminisced about her early years when these shows were authentic and devoid of emotional drama. She noted a shift in recent years toward editing and manipulation to present every singer positively.
Chauhan expresses discontent over reality show practices
Chauhan reportedly stated that now everything is "edited" and "manipulated." She revealed that the manipulation often confuses viewers when a seemingly good performer is eliminated in subsequent episodes. Recalling her time on Indian Idol, she said, "There was no emotional drama, just fun, and the performance you heard was the same as what was broadcast on TV." The singer also disclosed that show makers frequently instructed her to promote specific contestants regardless of their actual performance.
Chauhan praises fellow singer Arijit Singh's humility
In the same conversation, Chauhan expressed her admiration for fellow singer Arijit Singh and his unique approach to music. She praised Singh's humility and his ability to remain unaffected by audience attention during concerts. Speaking about the Kesariya singer's passion for music, she remarked, "He doesn't think of himself as Arijit Singh. He doesn't have a high opinion of himself. He just wants to create music. He doesn't seek to be heard; he wants to sing."
