Sunidhi Chauhan exposes 'lobbying' in industry; claims unpaid dues
In a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, renowned singer Sunidhi Chauhan disclosed that she has not been compensated for many of her songs in films. During the candid conversation, Chauhan discussed her experiences with malpractices within the music industry and acknowledged the existence of lobbying. "Lobbying is everywhere so that is something that cannot be escaped," she reportedly stated, highlighting the problems that corrode the industry.

Chauhan further elaborated, "When you reach a stature they have to pay you, because you can say that I will sing when you pay me. But when you yourself want to sing first and not worry about money then it is a choice and you cannot blame about not getting paid." "I have not got money for many movies even today. When I don't get it doesn't mean they don't give me. They ask and I choose not to take."
Chauhan's insights on industry malpractices
Speaking about the payment issue, she clarified, "You don't want to hurt anybody's ego because everyone does not think like you. They might also not understand how you feel." The Ruki Ruki singer also shared her thoughts on the alleged lobbying in the industry. "It's something you cannot avoid. You do your work, and if you want to get involved, do it to fix things."
Chauhan addresses singer replacement and song selection practices
Chauhan also addressed the industry practice of replacing singers without prior notice. "When it comes out as a surprise, you feel like you should have been told first," she said. Additionally, the Sheila Ki Jawani singer shed light on the current trend where songs are created beforehand and later chosen for a film, leading to an influx of songs produced without any specific movie in mind.
