Sudhir Mishra to direct Indian version of 'Hostages' as webseries
The Indian adaptation of popular Israeli crime thriller "Hostages", to be telecast as a webseries, will be directed by Sudhir Mishra. Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra would be the lead actor of the series. Applause Entertainment, the content studio from the Aditya Birla Group, has acquired the rights for the Indian remake from Armoza Formats. The show will be produced by Banijay Asia.

Sameer Nair, CEO, Applause Entertainment, "Hostages is an enthralling and captivating concept, which will hook viewers." Parvin Dabas and Dalip Tahil would also play key roles. "There is a clear demand for a show like this in the digital space... this show will definitely take the premium conspiracy series bar a notch higher," Nair added. This will be Sudhir Mishra's first webseries as director.
Treat every film as the first film, says Mishra
"I treat each and every film or show of mine as the first one, which helps me think of the plot in a new and fresh way. 'Hostages' is one such example," Mishra said. Ronit said he constantly strives to keep the audience engaged and entertained with each of his performances and that his character in the series is intriguing.
Hostages-like series has never been made in India: Tisca
"Having a director like Sudhir Mishra and a cast full of brilliant actors, this journey will be an interesting one. A show like this has never been made before," Tisca Chopra said. The shoot of "Hostages" is currently underway in Mumbai and the other actors in the digital series are Malhaar Rathod, Sharad Joshi, Aashim Gulati, Surya Sharma, and Anangsha Biswas.
