Suchitra Krishnamoorthi envisions daughter in 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' remake
Imagining a remake of the beloved 1994 classic Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa may seem daunting, but Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who starred in the original alongside Shah Rukh Khan, has some intriguing ideas. In a recent interview with Zoom, she envisioned her daughter, Kaveri Kapur, stepping into her shoes as Anna. Earlier, in a separate interview, she named Aryan Khan as her preferred choice for the character Sunil, originally played by his father, SRK.
Krishnamoorthi previously suggested Varun-Alia for the role of Sunil-Anna
Krishnamoorthi has been asked about the possibility of a KHKN remake and her ideal cast choices before, too. In a previous interview with Zoom, she suggested actors Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt for the roles of Sunil and Anna, but later stated they might now be too mature to portray the young characters. To note, KHKN was a pivotal film for Krishnamoorthi. The storyline follows a dreamer who falls for a girl already in love with someone else.
Meanwhile, Krishnamoorthi's suggestion of Aryan is apt too: Here's why!
While Krishnamoorthi's casting suggestion of Aryan came to light during the film's 30th anniversary, it should be noted that Aryan is currently pursuing a career in filmmaking. He is involved in his debut web series, Stardom, under his parents' production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. Coming back to Krishnamoorthi, she has been involved in numerous projects and TV shows since her own debut in KHKN, including Jazbaat, Vaade Iraade, Vishwa, My Wife's Murder, Rann, Mittal v/s Mittal, and more.
'Tiring now when people ask questions about SRK'
Meanwhile, in a separate interview with Mid-Day, Krishnamoorthi shared her frustration with constantly being asked about KHKN co-star SRK. She candidly expressed, "It's tiring, frankly. But unavoidable." Despite early success, she has maintained a selective approach to projects, prioritizing artistic fulfillment over fame. Krishnamoorthi said, "I wish for anonymity outside the workplace, but that's impossible in the performing arts." Her most recent appearance was in the 2022 TV series Braveheart.
Krishnamoorthi's daughter's acting debut in Shekhar Kapur's 'Masoom'
Krishnamoorthi's daughter, Kaveri, is currently preparing for her acting debut in Masoom... The New Generation, a follow-up to her father Shekhar Kapur's 1983 directorial debut, Masoom. The original featured stalwarts like Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Tanuja, Supriya Pathak, Jugal Hansraj, and Urmila Matondkar. During the recently concluded Cinevesture International Film Festival, Kaveri expressed her excitement about her cinematic journey, viewing it as a means to explore the darker aspects of human nature.
