    Remember Suchitra Krishnamoorthi from Shah Rukh Khan's Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa?

    The actress-writer-singer recently filed a complaint about some vulgar messages she received on Facebook.

    Suchitra also shared screenshots of the messages, and tagged Mumbai Police in the social media post.

    The cops have replied to her, and said the matter has been escalated to the Social Media cell and Cyber police.

    Allegation

    Suchitra raised the matter on Twitter, tagged Mumbai Police

    It so happened that Suchitra received several obscene messages from an account named Lacosta Maphisa on Tuesday.

    Soon after that, she reported the matter and shared screenshots on Twitter.

    She also wrote, "When someone claims to work on National Prime Prevention council & harasses women this way @MahaCyber1@MumbaiPolice pls take note. This message was sent to me on @facebook!"

    Concern

    Suchitra also expressed concern about safety of young girls

    Mumbai Police was quick to respond, assuring her that the issue would be handled.

    Thanking them, the 43-year-old said, "I wanted to bring it to ur notice and i am not under any threat."

    While expressing concern about the safety of young girls, she wrote, "If they can message me like this imagine the plight of young vulnerable girls on Social Media."

    Reiterating that the actress has their support, Mumbai Police, in their response, said that Suchitra's complaint has been forwarded to the authorized departments for necessary intervention.

    "Ma'am, we have already forwarded to our Social Media cell and Cyber police station for necessary intervention & action. Moreover, you can also Dial 100 or Tweet us, alternatively for prompt support," tweeted the Mumbai Police.

    On the work front, Suchitra was last seen in John Abraham starrer Romeo Akbar Walter.

    The actress, who became a household name post Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, took a break from movies after marrying filmmaker Shekhar Kapur in 1999.

    She made her comeback in 2005 with Anil Kapoor's My Wife's Murder.

    She also penned her first novel The Summer of Cool in 2009.
