'Stree' actress Flora accuses producer Gaurang Doshi of physical abuse
What's the story
Bollywood's #MeToo campaign, which has taken over the nation for a while, is getting scarier with every passing day.
More and more women are coming up with their complaints, and the recent addition to the campaign has left us horrified.
'Stree' actress Flora Saini has accused producer Gaurang Doshi of physical assault.
Gaurang is known for producing movies like 'Aankhen', 'Deewar' and 'Bawandar'.
Flora's story
I was beaten and got a fractured jaw, says Flora
In wake of the ongoing #MeToo campaign, Flora shared her horrific ordeal on Facebook.
She revealed she was physically abused by Gaurang while they were dating in 2007 and "came out with a fractured jaw and a scarred soul for life".
She raised her voice too, but tides turned against her as Gaurang was more powerful in the industry.
Flora's assault
'It was his words against mine'
Furthermore, Flora revealed how Gaurang threatened to ruin her career and how nobody believed her story.
"It was his word against mine, and of course, his word mattered," she added.
Flora also mentioned that she was replaced in the movies because of Gaurang and that people didn't meet her, or allow her in auditions.
Well, Bollywood's stoic stance on such issues isn't surprising.

Her story will break your heart
Flora's statement
The incident changed my life forever, says Flora
Recalling the horrific incident, Flora said that the abuse changed her beyond repair.
However, she also mentioned that it was her faith in life and God that made her stand up once again.
Flora also urged the ladies not to let anyone suppress them as they are not alone this time.
"Live your truth, wear it like armour," she added.
Sexual harassment
'The abuser forgets, but the abused carries the baggage forever'
In the Facebook post, Flora also lauded women for showing up the courage to speak up against the powerful men of the industry. She called them her 'superhero'.
"The abuser forgets, but the abused carries the baggage forever," she added.
Flora also mentioned that she is glad that voices are being heard this time instead of being judged.
More power to the ladies!

PS: For a lover of Bollywood, the stories are harrowing
The #MeToo campaign has exposed the darker side of the otherwise glamorized showbiz industry.
Celebrities like Alok Nath, Nana Patekar, Vikas Bahl etc, who have been accused of sexual misconducts, have shaken my faith and respect for B-town.
Is this what the industry is all about - misogyny, assault, suppression?
I hope this #MeToo movement brings a much-needed-change in the industry.
