'Stree 2' becomes first Hindi movie to cross ₹600cr
Amar Kaushik's horror-comedy Stree 2 has made history by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the ₹600 crore mark at the domestic box office. The film, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has been a massive hit across all regions and demographics in India. This milestone comes just days after Stree 2 surpassed the lifetime business of other major Hindi releases.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news of Stree 2 crossing the ₹600 crore mark on Twitter. He wrote, "IT'S 600 PAAR... #Stree2 creates HISTORY as the first #Hindi film to achieve this milestone... From metros to non-metros, multiplexes to single screens and urban centers to mass markets, #Stree2 is an OUTRIGHT WINNER across the board." Adarsh also provided a week-by-week breakdown of the film's earnings since its release on August 14.
Kapoor celebrated the film's success on Sunday
Kapoor celebrated the film's success with her friends on Sunday evening. All of them were dressed in matching red outfits, with Kapoor seen taking selfies in her car and enjoying the celebration with red balloons. They also cut a cake that had "Record breaking Stree" written on it.
'Stree 2' surpasses other major Hindi releases
To note, according to figures shared by industry tracker Sacnilk, the total collection of Stree 2 is a little short of ₹600cr, with it standing at ₹578cr after 39 days at the box office. Stree 2 has outperformed several other major Hindi releases, including the lifetime business of the Hindi versions of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan and Pathaan, Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, and Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
'Stree 2' boasts a star-studded cast
Apart from Rao and Kapoor, Stree 2 also features Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Tamannaah Bhatia in pivotal roles. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and written by Niren Bhatt.
