Shraddha-Rajkummar's 'Stree 2' Day-1 box office collection to cross ₹40cr!
Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's highly anticipated film Stree 2 is all set to hit the screens on Thursday, and it's already making waves at the box office. The horror-comedy sequel has reportedly raked in a whopping ₹20 crore through advance bookings, according to Sacnilk. This impressive figure not only surpasses the pre-release sales of other major films this year, but also sets Stree 2 up for a potential record-breaking opening day.
'Stree 2' has already surpassed 'Chennai Express' paid preview figures
Stree 2 is expected to cross the ₹40 crore mark on its opening day, which would make it the highest box office opener of the year. This figure excludes the ₹7.5 crore that the film has already earned through paid previews on Wednesday, breaking the record previously held by Chennai Express, which made ₹6.75 crore in 2013. The film's strong advance bookings and positive buzz suggest that it could continue to perform well over the upcoming Raksha Bandhan holiday.
'Stree 2' dominates over 'Vedaa' and 'Khel Khel Mein'
Stree 2 is releasing alongside two other big films, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. However, it appears to have a clear lead over both in terms of advance bookings. According to Sacnilk, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein have secured much lower pre-sales figures, with ₹49 lakh and ₹45 lakh respectively. Trade analyst Atul Mohan predicts a landslide win for Stree 2, suggesting that it might feel like a solo release given its dominance.
